A week at Taskize: Exploring post-trade, fintech and the world of work

As part of our work shadowing programme, we recently welcomed a university student who has just completed their second year of studies. We've just received this quick recap, in which they've shared their experience at Taskize, the people they met and some of the key things they learned along the way.

I have finished my second year of university studying economics, statistics and mathematics at Queen Mary University of London. It was fascinating getting a behind-the-scenes look at Taskize and how all the departments work together to achieve the same goal of client satisfaction.

Whilst spending time with Sam Gardiner, Head of Sales, I learnt about the importance of establishing a connection with people and some of the techniques you can use to achieve this, which was useful in not only business but also relationships outside the workplace.

I wanted to say a special thanks to Elle Guest (Client Experience Lead), Scott Christian-Lim (Head of Product Management), Aisha Kebe (Associate Product Manager), Ian Peel (Chief Marketing Officer), Narcisa Lupu (Senior Marketing Manager), Rohan Murphy (Business Development Manager), Steve Henderson (Senior Solutions Consultant), Marcin Galeziowski (Business Development Manager), James Pike (Chief Revenue Officer and Strategy), who took time out of their busy days to educate me on their departments, their role and their career paths.

Overall, it was a delight to network with very knowledgeable people and gain a better understanding of the post-trade and fintech industry. The move to T+1 and AI were prominent themes throughout my experience, where I saw how Taskize are positioned for the future. In the future, I seek to get into the finance and banking sector after completing a master’s degree in financial mathematics or similar.
